I am new to sailing and a Cal20. I need to buy a boom and learned they are $1000 new from Steve Seal. Steve is really helpful, but this is a bit spendy. Any advice on where to find a used one/get one made?

If you live around Seattle, There is a guy on Craigs List selling a complete Cal 20 for $600. Its in the water, and needs work, but is all there.
If I had a trailer, I would have bought it.
