Please forgive me for dropping the ball with this website...... I am always excited to talk about Cal 20s, the TransPac, or most anything nautical! For those that may be interested I would refer you to my son's website/blog. During the TransPac my mode of communication with the race committee was through my wife using a sat phone. Following our conversations she would email the necessary info to the race committee, and then write up an account of what was going on. This write up was placed on my son's blog to which he would include a picture if appropriate. To find this blog go to:
www.CrawfordKin.com once there, click on "TransPac" at the top of the homepage. Then go to "Archive" at the bottom of the page if you want to start at the beginning.
Now that Black Feathers is home I have been busy doing those changes to her that I felt would be improvements. A couple of these include making an enclosed locker for the liferaft in the cockpit, placing a bi-colored nav light on the mast, and doing some deck reorganization of the lines. I am unsure what races the future holds for Black Feathers but I plan to do all those things that I can to keep her ready to go. The TransPac was a great adventure, not only for me, but also for my family. Others were able to enjoy it through the blog. I have enjoyed giving a few presentations about the TransPac to interested groups. Please ask me anything you would like to know and I will do my best to give you a useful answer. This also helps me know what others are interested in.
This website provides a nice open forum for discussions but I also invite you to contact me through my emai which is: RobertsInMiWuk@yahoo.com
